3M's Electronic Solutions Division designs, manufactures and markets a wide variety of electronic interconnect and protection products.
The Interconnect Solutions Business provides reliable and effective interconnect solutions to electronic equipment manufacturers and assemblers serving a worldwide market. These products are backed by services such as just-in-time delivery, centralized order entry, strict quality control and broad distribution.
The Component Handling Solutions Business provides solutions to meet the electronic industry's challenges of protecting sensitive components from adverse environmental conditions during handling and transportation. Products include 3M™ Static Control Systems and EMI Shielding Materials; 3M™ Tape, Reel and Tray Transport Media for passive, semiconductor and electro-mechanical components.
The Microinterconnect Solutions Business provides flex circuitry to the electronics industry. These custom, adhesiveless interconnects are used in IC packaging, disk drives, medical devices, liquid crystal display modules, opto-electronic device packaging, printers, other high-density interconnect applications.
Major Markets: Electronics, automatic test equipment, high speed network computing, industrial, electronic, computer, data storage, medical and telecommunications.
Distribution: Interconnect Solutions and Component Handling Solutions primarily through authorized distributors; some direct sales to electronic original equipment manufacturers and through related-selling programs with other 3M divisions. Microinterconnect Solutions are direct sales only.
